One critique often directed at Southern Nationalists is regarding the South’s historical racial issues – specifically, how can Southern Nationalists create a new Southern government with a large black population? This is an issue brought up not just by hardline White Nationalists but also MAGA conservatives and liberals. Most of the time, this criticism sounds something like this: “You can’t secede because there’s so many black people in the South. They’d never support you or allow such a thing to happen.” This argument usually leans into darker territory, with its advocates suggesting that a new Southern government (or coalition of the Southern states) would be violently toppled by a racial demographic (blacks) that would not adjust or comply within the realm of a Southern Nationalistic polity.
The idea of a successful black counter-revolution against a Dixian government is ignorant given the historical (and even modern) relationship between blacks and Southerners. Many outsiders (particularly Yankees far removed from the South) view the South as akin to Sub-Saharan Africa. In their minds, the entirety of the South looks like the Mississippi Delta, with blacks being an overwhelming majority of the population. In fact, many White Nationalists make wild predictions, or even support the notion, of an emerging black ethnostate in the South, usually in the Deep South. This idea likely stems from the fact that, at one point, blacks were the majority in several, although not all, of the Deep Southern states. During Reconstruction, blacks had a decisive majority in Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and South Carolina.
However, these majorities have slowly but surely decreased over the past 150 years, even to the point where blacks in Mississippi make up only 37% of the population (according to the 2021 Census Bureau). Non-Hispanic Whites make up 56% of the population of Mississippi, with Hispanics approximated about 3.5%. In other words, in the blackest state in America, blacks don’t even have a majority. Next door in Alabama, blacks make up only 26.8% of the total population, whereas the total White population is 68%, more than the total of the United States. In most states, the black total population is either barely growing by decade, decreasing, or stagnating. The total percentage of blacks in the Southern states is only around 20%, 1 out of 5, including the Upper South.
The other idea, of blacks trying to overthrow a Free Dixie, is nonsensical when you realize the lack of independence in the “Southern” negro. Despite a handful of pan-Africans, the majority of supporters of the black ethnostate are blacks living outside the South. Consider the founders of the “New Africa Movement,” they were blacks in Detroit of the Malcolm X Society in the late 1960s. The idea for such an ethnostate has never actually caught on in the South largely due to black indifference to the idea. In reality, most blacks are happy to just get their welfare check from Uncle Sam and then proceed to do their own thing, they aren’t interested in forming an independent state.
Another challenge to the pro-New Africa idea, peddled by misanthropic White Nationalists, is the Southern population in the proposed area of “New Africa.” If we isolate Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina in this black ethnostate, we once again realize blacks only make up around 30% to 36% of the population. On top of this, it’s not like all blacks within these states live exclusively within the “Black Belt;” thus, you have some areas where less than 20% of the population is black (like on the coasts and hill counties). In a collapse scenario of the American Empire, it’s unlikely that blacks, on a strategic and political level, would carve out their independence while demographically outnumbered. Most Southerners are also heavily armed and imbued with a cultural propensity for self-defense.
At the end of the day, it’s clear that blacks are not some invincible obstacle, with respect to Southern sovereignty. From a historical perspective, this is also true. The counter revolt of the Redeemers in the 1870s, which toppled the black-carpetbagger alliance of the Yankee occupiers, is a good example. If blacks could not maintain power with the bayonet, and in black majority states like South Carolina and Mississippi, they certainly can’t manage a modern South where they have no numerical majority outside a few dozen “Black Belt” counties and decaying cities.
In the case of either American collapse or Southern secession, and these two events are not mutually exclusive, blacks in the South will cause tactical/local challenges, but these can be quickly settled. By merely enforcing many of our laws already on the books, the Southern states could easily rein in criminality, disorder, and racial animosity (pushed by race hustlers and the media). This was the norm for most of the “Jim Crow Era,” a period when independent sheriffs, governors, and state militias ensured law and order within Dixie. This is also why Joe Biden never misses an opportunity to demean our old system, note his anti-Bull Connor and Howard University speech. It was this system that effectively made the South such a hardline and orderly society from the 1900s into the 1980s.
When the South is free, either through imperial collapse or securing our own freedom, restoring effective racial systems will not be a concern.

I disagree, personally. I believe we should give the blacks control of their own state, and it should encompass the entirety of the northeast Yankeedom. That will solve multiple problems at once.
I seemed to recall way back in the thirties the Communist Party USA floated the idea of making the Black belt region an independent Black nation. But should the Southland Confederation become a reality it must be a majority White nation and in time an all-White nation otherwise the whole process starts over. The upper South is where we should concentrate and those areas of the lower south that are still majority White. It is doubtful the Southland Confederation will be identical to the Confederacy in size or states. The Southland Confederation should also adopt an immigration policy similar to the 1924 Immigration Act. I have traveled much around the world and the Southland Confederation should be a mixture of Orania and Switzerland. Armed neutrality and universal conscription (like Switzerland) because we will need to defend the Confederation and racially homogeneous like Orania but on a much vaster scale. As it stands now, I would advocate universal military training for the Confederation, both male and female, while also opposing the same for the United States because I have no desire to die in some God-forsaken place in order to make the world safe for Democracy. The world is about to enter unsettled reality. Funny how the U.S. can declare war unilaterally without even a declaration of war. If the system won’t follow the Constitution, why should we?
