“Right-Wing” and “Left-Wing” Defined

I discuss a lot about the modern “Right” because of the nature of the subject material on this website. As do most in the dissident or “anti-modern” sphere.

We are often forced to specify when we speak about the “Normie Right” (soft-Right) or the “Dissident Right” (Far Right), because the umbrella term “Right” has largely been co-opted. This is a shame, but it is what it is.

Still, it is past time I should define these terms more concretely, as I realize many do not share my same definition. So, an article is in order.

Let’s try our hand at some simple definitions.

The Right is:

• Those who reject the ideologies of the Enlightenment.

The Left is:

• Those who accept the ideologies of the Enlightenment.

Since the Left follows the dominant ideologies of the Enlightenment and we reject them, there is a lot more diversity within the Right. The Right is not constrained to one set of beliefs. They can adopt anything, so long as it is against the Enlightenment mindset. This is why we have so much difference of belief compared to the Left. But it is also why we have so much infighting.

You may wonder what those Enlightenment ideologies and mindset are. Let us now define that.

The Enlightenment ideologies are:

• The prevailing beliefs that have arisen since the fall of Christendom and our Greco-Roman heritage, which morphed into modernity.
• This includes but is not limited to Enlightenment perversions such as egalitarianism, the denial of human nature and biological reality, scientism, the idolization of “democracy,” the elimination of hierarchy, subjective morality, feminism, MGTWW, the cult worship of economics over people, materialism, the loss of importance on identity, pathological individualism, and “liberty” being the highest virtue a society can hold.
• The three big ones that put someone in the Enlightenment camp are usually 1) belief in egalitarianism, 2) rejection of hierarchy, and 3) rejection of biological reality.

“Far Right” and “Far Left” are merely extensions of these definitions – Someone further Right would be more opposed to Enlightenment ideologies than the lesser Right.

Most everyone still holds on to some beliefs that sprouted from the Enlightenment, even most dissidents, so it is difficult to find someone that is what I call Pure Right. Still, most of us reject the core foundation of the Enlightenment: pro-egalitarianism, the rejection of a natural hierarchy in societies, and the rejection of biological reality (races/”diversity”).

Your preferred economic system, political system, religion, ideology/identity, moral system, thoughts on public policy, and related matters mean nothing to me in terms of Right versus Left. It is only whether one truly “believes” (trusts) in the Enlightenment lie or not. And to what extent.

This is why I classify a lot of what the mainstream would call “Right” as centrist at best. A libertarian, for instance, is not right-wing: the idolization of liberty/economics and manufacturing a market god is a wholly leftist Enlightenment belief. Open borders libertarians are wholly leftist, as that position requires a belief in the denial of biological reality, a fundamental tenet of the Enlightenment ideology.

However, many non-open borders libertarians counterbalance their thoughts with an acceptance of hierarchy and (sometimes) a disdain for globalization/loss of identity. This would place non-open border libertarians somewhere in the centrist area. The same goes for neocons that love war, egalitarian morality, and materialism – they are centrists at best.

Right versus Left is not “tyranny versus freedom,” or some materialist economics jargon of “capitalism versus socialism,” and so on. All of those political spectrum lies have been manufactured by the modern world to confuse us. Right-wing is solely whether one buys into the lies of the modern age. If you reject those lies, then your enemy is the Left, and you are right-wing.

Whether a right-winger becomes an identitarian republican, a fascist, a paleocon that loves democracy, a pagan Roman Empire admirer, or a Catholic Christendom monarchy supporter, the root end goal is the same: the elimination of the lies of the Enlightenment. They are all right-wing. That shared end goal is the primary objective that should drive all of us. To overthrow the wickedness of the modern age. We can figure out the rest later.

Most people reading material like this generally have a “feel” for what is Right versus Left, but we don’t really have a universal definition. I admit my definition above is not shared universally. But it is what I mean when I use the term. And I believe it is the most accurate and representative of what truly animates the Right.

In this, Hanson is correct. The Right is for the millennia of civilization our ancestors built, which the Enlightenment Left is rapidly destroying. Civilization requires accepting the harsh realities and truth of our condition. Something the Left refused to do.

The reality is simple: the only way civilization survives is if the Right wins. Because a civilization cannot sustain forever upon lies. Especially lies as egregious as the Enlightenment ones.
