Observing the rhetoric of the establishment that serves as a front for our tribal plutocracy, I’m never really sure if I’m witnessing deliberate, coordinated tactics or incompetence.
What I’m referring to is repetition. They say something that’s absurd and repeat it in unison. For example, the White House says that January 6th was “one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.” The level of violence was trivial in comparison to July 4th, which was a nationwide bloodbath.
It’s now clear that what happened was facilitated by the capitol police and orchestrated by the FBI, but they just keep at it. It’s the same thing with “national security.” Most of our nation’s security is provided by white men, and the vast majority of murder in this country is done by black men.
The establishment endorses this by lamenting that the prisons hold too many black men while the military and law enforcement employ too many white men. But still, we’re the premier threat to our nation’s security and everybody just keeps saying it over and over again.
Moreover, how can there be a difference between “national security” and the volume of citizens being victimized and murdered in a nation? If a white guy breaks a window, that’s a national security matter, but if a black guy unloads a clip into a rap concert, it’s not? There’s no rational way to make a distinction between these matters.
So, is repetition the only thing they can figure out how to do with the lies they’re instructed to sell? It’s tough to conceive of a better strategy for dealing with this stuff. Perhaps that’s all there is to it. Or, is it a tactic from a playbook for driving people insane?
I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for the office of Dogcatcher.
