Proven Concepts

Time could reveal many things about COVID. However, it’s already clear that it functions as a Proof of Concept conducted on a civilizational scale devoid for how the plutocracy can deal with two psychological archetypes.

The first is the man disinclined to believe something that’s implausible and unsupported by facts. That’s the definitive characteristic of a dissident in an age gone mad. Years of persecution have made most dissidents careful not to create a public profile or engage in activities that could be used as a pretext for legal attacks.

COVID functions as a means of exposing dissidents and bringing retaliatory measures against them for ostensibly apolitical reasons. It should be acknowledged that this is effective in a way most of us never saw coming.

The second archetype is someone who’s intelligent and well-informed but can’t bear to conceptualize himself as amoral and unsophisticated. In order to maintain his pretentious self-image, he’s able to internalize the plutocratic narrative despite the insane contradictions and factual absurdities.

The tactic used on the pretentious is to vilify the low class mind and associate it with criticism of core plutocratic policies. In doing so, such criticisms are placed beyond their countenance. For example, they dismiss criticism of armed lunatics blocking traffic as white supremacy without expounding upon the merits of obstructing roads and pointing guns at motorists.

What’s been proven is the self-destructive distance pretension can propel someone. Decades of painting establishment critics as debunked conspiracy theorists, deniers, white supremacists, and terrorists has suppressed whatever rational instincts might be trying to resonate in their brains.

Facebook is full of boastful vaccination photos accompanied by statements deriding the cretins. Injecting yourself and your children with a substance that’s making many people sick, produced in the absence of normal safety procedures and for which no long term data exists, is going pretty damn far.

Since the dissidents were never on board and the pretentious are strapped in for hell or high water, what about everybody else? That would be most of the population. Although critical thinking isn’t their strength, they do have their limits. The majority’s reaction to a perpetual non-existent emergency is the great unproven concept.

  1. On another note their own study shows skeptics care more about science than the scientists:

Short post containing highlights from a surprisingly unbiased review of “COVID skeptic” communities written by seething academics. Their concluding quote is hilariously dystopian:
“the skeptical impulse that the “science simply isn’t settled,” prompting people to simply “think for themselves” to horrifying ends”
Trust The Science™, don’t you dare think for yourself!!!

    Key quotes below the line:

Most fundamentally, the groups we studied believe that science is a process, and not an institution
anti-maskers often reveal themselves to be more sophisticated in their understanding of how scientific knowledge is socially constructed than their ideological adversaries, who espouse naive realism about the “objective” truth of public health data.
In other words, anti-maskers value unmediated access to information and privilege personal research and direct reading over “expert” interpretations.

Arguing anti-maskers need more scientific literacy is to characterize their approach as uninformed & inexplicably extreme. This study shows the opposite: they are deeply invested in forms of critique & knowledge production they recognize as markers of scientific expertise
We argue that anti-maskers’ deep story draws from similar wells of resentment, but adds a particular emphasis on the usurpation of scientific knowledge by a paternalistic, condescending elite that expects intellectual subservience rather than critical thinking from the public.

  2. This is why we are (were) a Republic and not a democracy. These institutions and the means to enact their manipulations should not even exist.
