The Fog of Your Own Lens

The average Heritage American isn’t endowed with the ability to engage in staggering dishonesty free of compunction. Indeed, shame is the most important personal constraint that holds a society together because people often avoid impulses to do negative things due to how bad it would make them feel.

Without mass self-regulation, civilization wouldn’t be possible. The drawback is that civilization isn’t sustainable once it becomes hijacked by people who aren’t wired with such constrictions. The disingenuous actions and motives of his new elites are opaque to the average man simply because he can’t relate to them.

People tend to interpret others through their own lens. It’s probably just natural because in ancient social structures based on extended kinships, everybody would share a mindset imparted by common genetics and experiences.

In a multi-cultural paradise, this has proved to be a rather unfortunate maladaptation. It’s a salient factor in the media-political complex’s successful deception of the general public. Normal people aren’t pathological liars, so they assume the establishment isn’t comprised of them, either.

If you don’t think the media-political complex is successful, think of it as a burger chain that deals exclusively in putrid meat. A third of the population patronizes Rotten Burgers on a regular basis. Most, occasionally. Rotten’s exclusive product lines shape the entire social discourse on the cuisine. One would be shunned at a cocktail party for impugning their menu.

Moreover, Rotten Burgers has no competition even though everybody has a taste for fresh meat. Competing chains aren’t allowed. That’s tremendous success, even if a large chunk of the population despises Rotten Burgers and wants everyone involved put on trial.

That’s basically where we’re at in this dying country. Credulity is just hard wired into a large segment of the population. Evidence-based thinkers often fall into a vicious cycle of hoping the next bombshell will shake the masses into noticing an obvious pattern of facile deception, and then resigning themselves to disappointment.

Anybody who thinks there’s some big revelation that will change the game should take COVID into consideration. The virus hysteria should be a real eye-opener, but it’s still the same cast of characters calling BS. Everybody else is going along with the absurdity because they can’t conceive of lying on a grand scale despite the evidence right in front of their eyes.

Hunter Biden’s laptop leaks are the latest iteration of this cycle. The MSM suppresses coverage, labels it “Russian hacking” and a “debunked right wing conspiracy theory.” Nobody’s opinion is swayed. If opinions can’t be swayed by a decisive margin, an unsustainable system can’t be reformed.

Here’s another analogy. If a man is lying on a sidewalk dying of a fentanyl overdose, the truth is that he shouldn’t have touched the stuff. But, at the stage where his heart stops, does it make any difference at all?

  1. Brilliant analysis and one that, unfortunately, wouldn’t help those self proclaimed connoisseurs of tainted meat.
On one level it illuminates our dismal attempts at understanding the pajama people. However, I think it also is incredibly discouraging. It is a second layer of psychological warfare that the evil one’s use to destroy our morale and that’s the main effect.
First level is to bamboozle the masses. Herd Mentality and all that, easy enough I suppose. Second level is more insidious in that it is a sort of revelation of the method. Hey we’re Big Evil and this is how we act and there’s nothing you can do about it. As Michael Hoffman says it’s psychological rape. They perform the act, then brag about how they got away with it.
I’m also reminded that the Bible says God sends a “strong delusion”…. sure seems we’re witnessing this in real time on a mass scale.

    1. Yeah, it’s called vicarious salvation which also is immoral… the stupidity of believing in that has lead to our demise, as one can only redeem himself and his nation, … it will not come about vicariously of, by or from those bent on destroying you! Now what was that again about “strong delusions”?
