Your Move, Normiecon…

For as long as there has been a controversy over Confederate iconography, Unreconstructed Dixians have issued a dire warning for the future – attacks on the Confederacy were a mere steppingstone for future attacks on the Founding Fathers and other once unassailable American heroes. After all, much like Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were White, male, Christian slaveowners, right?

And just like clockwork, liberals and normiecons claimed that Confederates were a special category, and we can and should safely get rid of them, but this would not lead to attacks on the Founders. If the day ever came that attacks on the Founders began, they would vigorously oppose it. We now know that all of that was, of course, a cowardly lie. Recently, the New York City removed a statue of Thomas Jefferson from City Hall, after staying there for 187 years.  Naturally, barely a single liberal or normiecon has argued against it (as they said they would). Back during the summer of 2020 when statues of the Founders were targeted by rioters, the usual suspects stated that this was just the work of an angry mob (or just an “idea,” like antifa), but if a city or state did something like this, then they would be the first in line to oppose them. As surely as rightwing dissidents predicted, it’s all crickets from them.

Yes, this does include President Joe Biden. When asked about it, he stated that this was a New York issue. In a way that’s true, but we both know good and well that Biden does not really believe in that. Watch some small town in Alabama change the name of “Martin Luther King Avenue” and see how dedicated Joe is to localism. For what it is worth, I do not think that Biden actively supports removing statues of Thomas Jefferson or any other Founders. The man is almost 80 years old. He was raised in a world where not only the Founders, but Christopher Columbus and Robert E. Lee (even in the North), were revered as great men. This, and his past statements, suggest that he does not actively support leftwing iconoclasm. I do not believe that someone like him makes such a rapid cultural/political shift so late in life.

Rather than a true desire to destroy the accomplishments of White men, I think Biden’s issue is simply cravenness. I suspect he considers this unwise, but he knows that a significant part of his party, and even more so the advisors around him, thinks it’s a great idea to destroy the historical legacy of Heritage America. Biden is willing to watch something he was taught to love, and something his parents loved, destroyed in an effort to appease the Far Left. As terrible as it is, I think we have to be honest with ourselves about what is really going on here. I think much of the same thing can be said for normiecons that are now silent, after vowing to push back just over a year ago. I do not think they look at this and say “yes, more of this, keep it going!” Rather, like normies in general, they wish this just wouldn’t happen but lack the courage to fight it. However, failing to stop bad behavior doesn’t make the bad behavior go away, it just continues unabated.

The truth is there never was much difference between the Confederates and the Founders in the minds of the Far Left. They hate both because they represent Western civilization. The only difference is that the Far Left realized that they could not show all their cards and needed to have some restraint, arguing first for the removal of Confederate statues and then eventually targeting the Founders. It was all about moving the needle a little at a time. Back in the 1990s, even Robert E. Lee was rarely attacked. Instead, the focus of the Left’s rage was Nathan Bedford Forrest. Lee was praised, and not just by the Unreconstructed. He enjoyed at least somewhat mainstream praise for his military brilliance, love of Virginia, and his desire for reconciliation after the War. As soon as they got rid of Forrest, they went after Lee and all of his good qualities practically overnight. Instead of the kindly, Virginia gentleman, he became known as a cruel slave master and a traitor.

Now, of course, they have moved on to Jefferson. It was not that long ago that secular liberals (like Christopher Hitchens) would claim Jefferson as their own. He is now being recast as a “slaver” and a rapist. Soon Jefferson will be under the same attacks that targeted Forrest and Lee, and then they will move on to the next target. Who will it be? Hard to tell, the attacks on Jefferson are just beginning to enter the mainstream (there is no way this stays in New York City), so they will try to keep their next target hidden for a little longer.

It is your move, normiecons. People like the writers and readers at Identity Dixie have been warning about this for years, and you told us it would never happen. The normicon stated that the Confederates were a special case and that there was no reason to think the Founders would be next on the chopping block. Just as the once honored Lee became a target, so has Jefferson became the next focus of leftwing hatred. You, normicon, swore up and down, that this would never happen.

Well, now it has happened. Predictably, the normiecon has been as quiet as a church mouse. Of course, we can’t make you advocate for the legacy of your people – you have to do that. But, don’t get angry at us when we remind you of your own timidity when Jefferson also becomes another “special case” (he’s a slaver) and the Left tears down statues of Washington, John Wayne (already in progress), Madison, Monroe, Andrew Jackson, and Francis Scott Key.

  1. Get rid of those States north of the Ohio River / Mason-Dixon line, and all of this comes to a sudden end. Along with most of Dixie’s other socio-political problems.

    End Reconstruction. End the war.

  2. I believe it started with state flags with the Confederate symbol. I remember we had a referendum to keep the flag of Mississippi some twenty years ago, and only the last year the state has replaced our flag. The bill passed by a vote of 91-23 in the House, and 37-14 in the Senate. They rejected the referendum since they knew to motion to replace the flag would be again defeated. So, we can’t only blame the Liberals, it’s people, who are supposed to represent us, who are just as responsible.

    1. Yep.

Every monument coming down does so without a murmur from the elected right. Which means we are all duped by the false left vs right paradigm. I’ve been preaching hard against it for several decades.

      But Go Trump!

      1. I agree, but let’s not forget the value of the MAGA movement in how it exposed the vulnerability of the Liberal regime to the nationalist populist movement. Something the mainstream Conservatism was never able to achieve. We could see how the establishment (deep state) reacted upon his election, and the most blatant and obvious in the dehumanization of the Jan 6 protesters. They don’t fear the fringe far Right-extremists, but the Boomer, grandma’s and grandpa’s who are willing to vote for Trump or someone like him, and are naive enough to believe in free speech.

This is the movie worth seeing. It will make your blood boil: https://capitolpunishmentthemovie.com/#trailer

  3. I as well as my Father admired and resected Lee, Jefferson, and Washington. These were great Men.
