Capitalize on the Contradictions

We’re living under a transnational oligarchy rooted in parasitical finance rather than common sense. Every occasion presents an opportunity for them to rub our noses in it without admitting what’s actually going on. Still, hubris is a perilous game.

While the narratives of its media apparatus are coordinated, they constantly conflict. The result is a set of contradictory canards. While this makes little difference to a group of people to whom everything is subjective, that’s not the case for those on whom their power depends on keeping brainwashed.

There’s no shortage of this stuff to point out. Since we’re all looking forward to Christmas, here’s an illustrative example provided by two media hacks who owe their careers to tribal nepotism:

First, Brian Kahn. He bemoans Christmas trees as environmentally destructive and symbolic of clear cutting “old growth forest.” He claims this tradition must come to an end if we’re to reconcile survival with our ecological impacts.

Imagine walking around everyday with this hate in your heart.

Next we have Matthew Yglesias, who recently published a book about why the population of the United States should be increased to 1 billion people through mass migration. He insists that the innovative potential of immigrants will solve climate change.

Don’t be alarmed. You want to fix the climate, right?

Nothing they’re saying contradicts the narratives in something like the NYT. Sure, Kahn might be a bit more odious in his screed. Yglesias is certainly more explicit about the end game than what one would expect to read in a narrative-setting publication. However, they’re sticking to the script, which doesn’t make any sense.

For dissident content producers, time is probably wasted speculating about whether or not their objectives are intentionally suicidal. Likewise, if they even have the capacity to gauge their own hypocrisy. It’s self-evident that they’re pushing existentially catastrophic policies.

The easiest way to point this out is by highlighting the infuriating contradictions. They get paid plenty of money to churn this stuff out, so make use of it.

The subject of Orwell’s warning. No self-awareness.

  1. Our society is going to go down is history as the people who quote George Orwell while they set up the surveillance superstate to stop racism.
