As always, the end of a year brings reflection, as well as new aspirations for what will come next. For the previous year, a lot can be said, but what more can be said for the decade its end has brought about. We stand at the precipice of a unique time in history, especially when zoomed in on our own slice of the world. In the last decade, we have seen an unrelenting attack on our people’s symbols, culture, monuments, history, and faith. Monuments and flags have been torn down, we have been belittled more than ever in the media, our territory infringed upon, and our liberties revoked, one by one. This has happened before, of course, but each time we lose something significant. We don’t have much left to lose at this point.
It’s easy to forget how fast it all happened. And yet, it’s only the beginning. But, we have come a long way, too. Our spiritual awakening has only begun, as has the establishment pushback. We have weathered the storm so far; our populist candidate, be it as it may, was elected thanks to our grumblings. The rise of the Dissident Right has given birth to promising gains in the culture, Southerners being prominent in that progress. Within Western Nationalism, Southern Nationalism has made its place, and thank God for it. Numerous leaders have made their names for our cause. This website has led a revival of Southern dissent. The successes, achievements, disasters, blunders, and battles of the decade have given us cause for both joy and sorrow.
Clearly, much work is left to be done. Our movement is in a hiatus of sorts. In order to build on what has been laid in the last few years, it is imperative that we reflect on what has happened, but also that we resolve what is to happen. We are in many ways masters of our own successes and defeats. Therefore, I propose a set of resolutions that we set before us for the next ten years.
Organization is Key
First and foremost, the area we, as Southern Nationalists, seem to lack in most is organization. If there is anything to be learned from our political rivals, it is that a small minority can accomplish much if it is organized. A close-knit group of determined and likeminded ideologues can rule a room, or, should the group be large enough, the narrative or culture as a whole.
Southern Nationalists have failed in this, not because we haven’t tried, but because we have not taken appropriate measures to defend against attacks on our groups. Mass deletions of profiles is enough to silence many of us for months, or even cause some of us to give up entirely. Doxxing even more so. I commend those who have endured Big Tech’s unfavorable conditions, but allowing them to wipe us from our only platforms by pushing a few buttons is not what our movement needs.
Many of us only use one or two apps to engage in this movement, usually Instagram or Facebook, or maybe Twitter. That simply isn’t good enough. We must be everywhere at all times, or we will be silenced. We must be on every app we can get our hands on. We must create groups of like minded people everywhere we possibly can. Not only that, but use them. This can be as simple as an occasional conversation or coordinating to set up something as casual as lunch or coffee.
Of course, this goes even further. Connections and impressions are everything. No potential ally should ever be ignored if an opportunity comes to reach out. We are in this together, for our people, not ourselves. If we wish to help each other, we cannot neglect each other. Look for sympathetic people in your area, or absent that, get together with friends of similar persuasions and decide to muster about things to work with. Start creating content, build relations, wield your influence in your church. No area of life can be afforded to be overlooked.
Putting in Work
Another area we lack is our participation in the movement. We have many people on social media and elsewhere that, while present, do little. Lurking is not enough. For those that can and do want to help, it must be kept in mind that this movement will not run itself. If we wish to preserve the South and her traditions, we have to strive to do so. This is not a spectator sport.
Thankfully, we have enough outlets to do this with. Pro-Southern groups exist within a reasonable drive in most locations. If not, a church will be, so go soul-winning and win some folks to the Lord. The internet boasts even more opportunities. Donations can be paid to plenty of groups and individuals paving the way for our people. Articles can be written and pages created to recruit and teach more people about us. Hell, simply making a few memes can go a long way, longer than nothing, at least.
Our movement is abundant in people that are willing to follow, but it is scarce in leaders. Big Tech’s censorship and antifa doxxing only exacerbates the issue. Making a name for yourself, whether at the head of the movement itself or at the ground level, not only helps us organize, but gives us someone to rally around. Again, the movement will not drive itself. The yellow-vest protests tried that strategy, and it only saw them fade away as they slowly lost steam.
Preserve Our Inheritance
The renewed assault on our culture only really began after the Charleston shooting. After that, Confederate flags were censored and statues removed. There are still plenty of young folks that remember when none of that was an issue. Of course, many have since been brainwashed to see it as an issue, but the majority are simply unaware of what is at stake. The boiling frog technique helps keep them passive.
Waking people up is always time well spent. But many of our people are simply non-active politically. They believe their efforts can achieve little, so they do little. These people will need to be brought forth if we have any shot at a mass awakening of Southerners. Nobody should be able to look past their impending doom.
Tend the Fire
Let us not forget that a new generation is now springing up. They are, so far, nameless, but they have begun to be born. Generation Z will not always be young, and neither will Millenials, so we should at some point turn our focus to the new youth. These are the children that will know only a time when Confederate symbolism and Southern identity was attacked, seen as evil as Nazism.
Most will harbor very little in the way of Southern identity. The school system, as well as the media, is training our young to be Yankees, forgetting their actual origin and abandoning their actual birthright. During Thanksgiving, they are taught that the Puritans were their ancestors. During February, they are taught their grandparents were evil. They are taught their God is the Devil. At any glimpse of Southern iconography, a mass wave of indoctrination is poured into their poor little minds about how much they must hate themselves.
This should be seen as nothing less than a genocide, seeking to make our people so unaware of their existence that they simply fade away, never to be recovered. If our movement is to survive, we will have to turn our attention toward the children, to teach them what should be taught. Homeschooling can only go so far when hardly anyone does it.
Better Everything
Lastly, I include this section, even if it should be self-explanatory. We are representatives of our cause, as well as, our people; as such, we should be presentable wherever we go. Work out, train, eat right, by all means, but also read, learn, and feed your mind. Never allow yourself to be caught in ignorance. No matter what the globalist machine tells you, it’s a weakness, not a strength. In all ways, be ready for what is to come.
Having said all this, there’s much more that needs be done. Still, adding this to our current movement would benefit us greatly, hopefully propelling us to the mass awakening we require of our people. Southern Nationalism has to be at the forefront of our people’s politics, not on the fringes of our culture. Should we accomplish that, we can have a new Southern decade.
This is going to come across as though I am refuting your point and simultaneously contradicting myself, and perhaps I am in a certain sense, but not in the grand scheme or broad, or most important sense. Nevertheless, ignorance can actually be a strength rather than a weakness, and vice versa. Men like R.L. Dabney understood this very well and wrote about it explaining why many times. See e.g. Dabney’s letters to Dr. Rufner castigating the Yankee “common school” education system imposed upon the South, articles on true education in the old Southern Literary Messenger (c. 1834-1864), etc.
I can’t get into the depth of it all right now, but I promise to strive to do so in future. You might benefit from reading Prof. JMSmith’s Orthosphere article, Spoiled by a False Education and the comments. See here:
