Cultivating Female Dissidents

The Dissident Right has a women problem. Specifically, we are failing to invest the time and energy necessary to recruit, cultivate, and retain talented female dissidents. It is time for the Dissident Right, especially Southern Nationalists, to reevaluate and work toward greater female dissident participation if we seek to achieve our strategic objectives. The purpose of this article is to explore the reasons why we need more female participation, ideas as to how to make that possible, and a sensible valuation as to their potential within the movement.

Before I go further, let me address a natural reaction from our sector of the political spectrum. I am not advocating some kind of affirmative action for the sake of inclusivity for dissident conduct. Rather, I see women as a practical tool in the promotion of dissident goals. Women are our God given partners. They are designed to provide elements to the family dynamic, especially the production of life itself. As our partners, they should have a role in the promotion of Southern Nationalist discourse and objectives. This needs to be viewed holistically – whether it involves female writers, narrators, and content producers or simply the promotion of pro-Southern ideologies to their children and grandchildren. We find ourselves in a full-scale struggle and it requires a total solution.

Furthermore, women are excellent at facilitating certain critical functions of an organization that should not be dismissed. The importance of administrative tasks, intelligence gathering, and facilitating communications among other members of the Dissident Right are all invaluable. Some of our Southern women are the most important conduits of information sharing between organizations and personalities. We, at Identity Dixie, maintain open lines of communications between other groups and/or larger media personalities due, in part, to women who keep those back channels open. My personal communications and organizational cooperation with Irish Nationalists are facilitated by a small team of women.

From a purely functional level, women have played a critical role in the conduct of warfare throughout history. This is not the “Wonder Woman – Girl Power” type stuff that is deservedly demeaned by the Right. I do not believe in the mythical female warrior. Rather, women such as Virginia’s Isabelle “Belle” Boyd during the War Between the States or German spy Mata Hari played critical roles as intelligence gatherers for their respective countries. There was no denying their patriotism. As information gathering on antifa increases, cultivating our own seemingly innocuous assets will be critical to our long-term success and the curtailment of Marxist agitators, especially as 2025 nears.

Male infiltrators have failed where female assets have succeeded in areas like Atlanta, Miami, Richmond, and Dallas. We need more of them. White women have a much easier time speaking about leftist political and cultural positions than White men because they are inundated with leftist talking points from a young age. Conversations on pro-abortion, women’s rights, gender diversity, etc., are part of their grooming within public institutions. They know what to say and how to say it better than we do.

Whereas leftist agitators have weaponized femme fatales to infiltrate rightwing groups, that is rarely due to intelligent discourse on dissident talking points. The Left uses Nazi imagery, CSA battle flags, antiquated iconography, and cleavage to infiltrate organizations or disarm less cautious individuals who think with the wrong head. No one on the Left – male or female – knows how to speak “Southern Nationalist” to a mature Southern Nationalist. By mature, I do not mean age. I mean emotional and intellectual maturity. There are plenty of older dummies who fall for homosexual antifa males hiding behind avatars with large breasts and a Roman salute. One of the many reasons Identity Dixie has no female members is largely to avoid this phenomenon from occurring.

Returning to the idea of a female’s potential for information gathering, we should use this ready resource to maximum advantage. The astounding number of sexual deviants and convicted pedophiles on the political Left is ripe for manipulation. Organized female dissidents could harvest mountains of evidence from this softest underbelly of the radical Left.

Communications is another area in which female dissident participation should be utilized. There are three key areas of communications within which females would excel: facilitation, narration, and amplification. Each sector has its own unique characteristics.

As it pertains to facilitation, as stated earlier, I have enjoyed the privilege of female facilitated communications between parties. One reason I believe that females do well in this regard is that they rarely come across as territorial or competitive when intersecting across multiple divisions of the Dissident Right. Females working for National Socialist entities communicating with Southern Nationalist content producers, as an example, do so in a way that comes across as a service to the group rather than territorial or guarded. In fact, they seem unguarded and friendly, even when they remain cautious and disciplined. Since my handle in Ireland is different than my handle in the United States, I lean on female facilitators for the sake of nationalist ideological cross-pollination. Training each other and material support are both made easier when important conduits are established. Women play key roles within these objectives.

As it pertains to narration, there are several factors at play regarding female messaging to broader audiences. It is impossible to watch Hellstorm without admiring the brilliant job Sinead McCarthy did as a narrator. A well-spoken female voice in a familiar accent or tone can resonate with an audience – male or female – that might be otherwise less receptive to countervailing or simply marginally different opinions. Charming Southern female accents can convey ideas that seem harsh when delivered by male voices.

Think of the impact a modern “Axis Sally” or “Tokyo Rose” could have on devastating military recruitment at a time when the military is our greatest enemy. It shows nothing but hatred for our people, our traditions, and our values. Making military service the subject of derision by female propagandists can greatly help our cause. Reducing the American military’s ability to wage war should be our number one immediate goal. Marines serving for the defense of globohomo should be the new cuckhold label of 2023. No one can undermine a boy’s desire to serve the United States like a good old fashioned American girl. They are great at talking boys into serving; they can be even better talking them out of serving. Weaponize the social experimentation gifts the U.S. DOD gives us every single day. Children, however, are really where we can utilize women in a narration role.

If it is the goal of the Dissident Right to ensure the perpetuation of our nations, then we must do a better job communicating to future generations of children. We do not need to co-opt or reinvent Disney. Low-cost animated stories with a female voice could be extremely helpful in promoting nationalist ideas to our children and grandchildren. Children’s books, games, and other interactive means to counteract inevitable modern programming in public schools or mainstream media are examples of the areas within which we can make the biggest dissident impact. The political Right has attempted to do this – albeit in frequently awkward ways. A better job at creating social and cultural building blocks should involve the same people who will likely employ their use – mothers.

Finally, there is the role of amplification of messaging. The Dissident Right is great at getting its message to 49% of the White population – males. We are lagging when it comes to women. There are some great Dissident Right female accounts that amplify dissident messaging – usually around traditional values, femininity, and subtle societal observations. We should help them achieve critical mass. Female dissidents seem crass and frankly pathetic when they attempt to play male communications roles, using harsh language or edgy imagery. They excel at reminding our White female counterparts that they are the fairer sex and worthy of productive and protective male partners, leading to healthy relationships that bear children. This should be cultivated and expounded upon.

For example, the fact that there is no Dissident Right podcast version of The View is surprising so late in the game. Of course, we do not need a Dissident Right version of Joy Behar or Whoopi Goldberg yelling over each other. But a team of well spoken, responsive and informed women discussing a host of issues of the day, intermixed with different feminine topics related to the home and family, would likely gain traction very quickly and help amplify dissident propaganda.

Finally, even those women who are not involved in our day-to-day dissident activities are clearly impacted by the deleterious impacts of a collapsing West. We need to craft messaging that speaks to those women who sense something is wrong and are deeply concerned for their children and grandchildren. The reaction of female protesters when Loudoun County transgender and anti-White propaganda came to light is an example of the type of reaction we can expect if we foment the type of anger that is both organic and acceptable.

We really need to do more of the kind of work we were able to achieve in Northern Virginia. We have had similar successes in the suburbs of Atlanta, Eastern Tennessee, Northeastern and Central Florida. Those of us intimately involved in that project know that it was due to a limited and hyper-targeted communications campaign among a very small group using some of our female allies and their mainstream social media mechanisms to deliver the messages we needed to resonate within key school boards. We could never have envisioned the success and the rapidity at which that campaign spread. We need to do a lot more.

While we are aware that two other political groups acted simultaneously to our work, we accidentally intersected with their messaging campaigns. Had we better coordinated with the women on one of those teams, I believe we could have had an even more powerful role in Virginia politics in 2021. As an example, the Florida Project achieved outstanding results in 2021 and 2022. I fully expect 2023 to be more important, especially as “DeSantis 2024” rhetoric heats up. The Florida Project model, beginning in 2020, is the model for other states and it requires female participation to succeed.

In sum, the Dissident Right is maturing as an organized force. We are coordinating at levels that were previously hamstrung by self-serving personalities. Southern Nationalists have our own goals, and we should hammer those goals home. It is time to take this to the next level. We should be recruiting female dissidents, working with them to achieve maximum proficiency, and spread our messaging to sectors that have heretofore remained largely underserved. We need to more aggressively target mothers, grandmothers, single women, and children with a messaging blitz. Making that happen will require our God given partners – women.

  1. Excellent article, sir.

I personally have very little interest in recruiting women to our movement, except through their men. By “their men,” I of course mean their fathers and grandfathers, their husbands, their brothers, uncles, male cousins, and even through their sons. In addition to what I write here for Identity Dixie, I write at least three times as much content (mostly historical and genealogical) for my little family group, which consists of only a handful of women (our own daughters, an elder female cousin and a couple of my sisters), the remainder and large majority being men (my sons & brothers, cousins, nephews, etc.), most of which are married and have children and/or grandchildren, including daughers and/or granddaughters, of their own. What I’m getting about is that my personal method of recruiting women to our movement is indirect, by way of educating and preparing them to play their vital and complementary role through, primarily, educating and preparing their men.

P.S. For those of our readers who have not read it before and who are interested, I once wrote a two-part article discussing Miss Belle Boyd and her exploits for ID, which articles may be found down the page, here:

    1. And what of those of us who –for whatever God’s reasons are — do not have “their men” ?
I am in the DR, but have “no man.”

I am in the extrme minority on many points, and I know it.

But just wanted to point out that there are those of us out there who are [still psycho-socially normal] “manless.”

(This might be the only time I ever call myself a “victim”: …of the 21st century culture….)

      1. Hello, Carrie. You make a valid point, and I will answer it the best I know how.

First, I trust you did not overlook the fact that I said I have very little interest in recruiting women to our movement, not zero interest. I wasn’t trying to leave myself “an out” when I wrote it that way, I was simply pointing out the bare and naked facts of the matter. Second, I put the word “recruiting” in italics in my comment to highlight the fact that it is in fact recruiting women to our movement that I’m mostly uninterested in, unless it is through their men. What I’m getting about is that, since you’re already in the movement, there is no need to recruit you into it either way.

Third, and lastly (sorry for the unnatural paragraph break, but this is bigger point that requires its own paragraph, in my estimation), you yourself admit you’re an extreme minority on this point and many others. I agree that this puts you in a bad position; I also agree, based on what you wrote, that it is likely due to no fault of your own. Whether it is your fault or not is really of little concern to me, to be brutally honest; the Lord has His reasons, as you rightly note, and I’m personally not one to try to improve on the Lord’s perfect plan. Meanwhile, and relatedly, it’s never a wise policy in any movement to try to account for the extreme minorities, who are always with us like the poor; the safest policy is to conduct ourselves in such a way that we focus on what is in the best interest of the majority, while we try to keep the minority from “slipping through the cracks” as best we can.

I’m glad to hear you found your way to our movement in any case. As you know, the Lord works in mysterious ways sometimes that confounds the greatest of human wisdom.

I hope you’ll keep reading us, ma’am. Thank you for the interesting comments.

  2. Sorry …….the only women that I would have trusted all passed on in the 1950’s…….I will share no important / strike that / any info with a female in 2022 and beyond……

  3. Well hallelujah that you appear to be the first person to know that there are quite a few of us out there, and are an untapped resource.
Just the other day I had a conversation with a guy (at a 2A shop) and we were discussing the potential for a ladies’ evening. (With me as an instructor.)
And he mentioned in passing, that one of his guy instructors called one of the women “little lady.” He and I both rolled our eyes. And it made my pitch to him even stronger, TBH.

Men: you must stop using this type of vocabulary [and let’s be honest, the mindset that accompanies it] on us, if you are to validly tap this resource.

Thank you, Mr. Martin, for laying this out very clearly.

I also wonder if part of the challenge is that naturally, as conservative people, among us as a broader DR group (men and women) the women are content to let the men lead. And we, as women, naturally downplay our natural gifts, talents, skills, and abilities. So there’s that.

There are some of us out there (like myself) wondering when this “A Ha!” moment was going to happen.
I chatted with Zman recently and I think he might be one to also recognize this issue / opportunity. Because let’s face it: men are largely leading this movement, and that’s good. It’s your job.

But it appears that none of y’all have realized we’re here…AND, if I wanted to get a bit jaded, you’re too busy purchasing Tacticool gear or being keyboard jockeys, instead of going out into meatspace and, say, inviting the lady (ies) you know, to join you in a 2A evening somewhere, for starters.

Or if you do realize it, there’s a patronizing element to it, which, personally, drives me bonkers. (such as “little lady” example above)

(OR, gosh, learn to listen more, and ask us questions about what we think about all of this: the movement, the global situation, how it affects us personally, etc etc. Not all women will be reading Identity Dixie on a weekly basis…. 🙂

Listening is a tragically un-learned and un-used skill in our world, by both sexes.
To our men friends: On this one, don’t try to “fix the problem.”
I know, I know, it’s against your nature. But some of us ladies have learned “man fix-it skills”, so you can maybe consider “crossing over” and learn to be silent and JUST. LISTEN.
(The skill takes years to learn, FYI.)

Thank you again for pointing this out, Mr. Martin. I am curious to know what the reaction(s) of your male audience is, on this general topic.

  4. I’ll narrate for you. Email me; I’ll send you a link to my weather report podcast so you can sample my accent.

  5. “The importance of administrative tasks, intelligence gathering, and facilitating communications among other members of the Dissident Right are all invaluable.”

This, this right here is golden. Been thinking about these a good bit lately and have come to the conclusion one of the major reasons we dissidents have a difficult time doing or accomplishing much is possibly because a lotta men like us don’t like being social organizers. Low and behold, women love that stuff. Just think: when you are going to a family event, who are the typical organizers of said event?

  6. “simply the promotion of pro-Southern ideologies to their children and grandchildren”

👆🏻This is the key to everything.

Women have to counter the indoctrination of their children for they are the future.

    As always, excellent insight.

  7. I’m a homeschool mom in TN (and TN native with Scottish and English heritage) and also a professional watercolor illustrator. Your bit about creating children’s books stood out to me. I may not can contribute much since being a full time wife, mom, and teacher is quite time consuming but I want to help where my talents can be used. If you know of anyone who would need an illustrator, you may share my info.
