The Southern Prayer

If it be possible, as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Romans 12:18 KJV

Simple verse, right? Everyone can agree that peace is the most beautiful of lifestyles. We pray for this, we bite our tongues, we turn the other cheek to avoid unnecessary conflict, or conflict of any kind for most of us. But, what if we cannot, what if others provoke to the point that it demands a reaction? Reaction that means the preservation or destruction of our families, our homes, and our very civilization.

We have seen our ancestors demonized, our monuments and graves destroyed, our men put in jail without cause, even our very livelihoods put in danger. We did not ask for this, we want peaceful lives, but that time has passed. We are embarked in legal and peaceful resistance to the forces that would destroy our nation, our people. So, what do we do, how do we react in a positive way? What is the first step?

As in all things my brothers, we pray.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

Sometimes it is hard for us to find the words to pray, let this be a guide. I shall be praying this regularly and I hope you will join me.

Our great Heavenly Father, Ruler of All, hear our petition.

Forgive us for slumbering too long, as the Evil One and his servants rise up against your people.

Pardon us for not living to the goal of the righteousness that is found in Christ.

Excuse us for not raising our families with eyes toward heaven.

Have mercy on us for not honoring our Mothers and Fathers, as you command.

We rest in your kindness, hear us in our repentance.

Christ Jesus our Advocate, our Brother, our Head.

Fight for us against our foes, your foes.

Give us wisdom and help us to be patient.

As our ancestors taught us, resistance to tyrants is obedience to you.

Strengthen us as to not flinch, not to waver.

Help to fight with honor, but without mercy toward your enemies.

Holy Spirit, The One who comes along side of us.

Fill us to over flowing, as we worship the Godhead.

Convict us of sin when we fail, and of righteousness when we obey completely.

Instruct the Host of Heaven to strive with us in our battle.

Move on our land, calling the faithful to battle.

All power comes from you, and to you only do we plead.

Rebuild our ruins, restore our people.

In the Name of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Amen.
