Foreword: I’d like to credit a good friend of mine for inspiring this article. Thank you for your kind friendship over the years.
For some years now, I’ve heard various individuals from regular kosher conservatives all the way up to right-wing dissidents comment how things such as voting or speaking out is useless. Today, I am here to set the record straight with you.
I swear sometimes if you listened to the people who constantly black pill, it would make the world seem like there’s nothing that can be done to fix it and that is something that greatly annoys me to no end – surrendering. I am a veteran. I will, no matter what, always be a soldier. The reason for this comes from the mindset one gains having been one. Surrender, quitting, stopping, failing and giving up are things which do not exist in my mind and it’s high time you learned that too. I want to put things into perspective and give you a frame of mind to work with and show you this mentality works and that you can learn it.
When I got out of the Army in 2016, I decided I was going to get back into aviation. In my youth, I always had a love for aviation, flying and really anything related to it. Finishing up getting my pilot’s license and getting back into flying was out of the question, but there was something else I could do, something that up until that point I had not realized – aviation maintenance. During my time in the service, I discovered I had a knack for turning wrenches and fixing broken things. At the same time, I found a passion in that rivaled my love for aviation. It was at this point that I realized I had a perfect opportunity in front of me to combine two passions into one.
It was three years later I was finally able to hold my license in my hand from the FAA that said one simple word in Block 2, that word was (and still is) “Mechanic.” On the back, it also says two simple things which represented this three year mountain that I climbed – “XII RATINGS MECHANIC AIRFRAME; POWERPLANT.”
Why do I say all of this you may wonder? It’s to demonstrate to you a word that many have seemed to have forgotten – tenacity.
“Dixie today, Dixie tomorrow, Dixie forever.”
Those who insist you are powerless as an individual are wrong. They are demoralized, you should not listen to them and I’m going to tell you why.
I’ll be the first to point out the flaws and weaknesses in the Republic. In this regard, the black pilled folks are not wrong. That having been said, no system of government is perfect and, most importantly of all, we have no other choice at the moment. We did not get to pick the situation we are in. Complaining about it is useless and not solving anything. Sure, you could abstain, but what does that get you? Getting bent over a barrel by the Left? I’m not really a fan of that notion, but then again I don’t think suicide is a good idea. I might be biased in this regard.
One thing that I need to impress upon you is just how much power you, as an individual, do indeed have. If you listen to all these people on both sides who say you can’t stop any of this and that resistance is futile, then you’ve already surrendered. Again, these people are wrong.
Leaders, rulers, kings, dictators, and anyone else with any sort of power – ultimately, has power because you let them have power. You let them have power by not opposing them, by not doing anything.
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” – Unknown
Even the most brutal examples of governments were eventually defeated by the people – for example, look at the Soviet Union. Once enough people finally started waking up from decades of manufactured propaganda and all the other factors that contributed to its downfall finally reached critical mass, enough people rose up and threw off the chains of communism. Among them were normal people and those already in positions of power waiting for the right time. They set themselves up for success by planning.
So yes, your vote does count and what you say does matter.
Brexit, despite the conundrum it is right now serves as an example. Think about how hard the Left worked to oppose it, how many in the BBC said to the British people “voting is useless,” that those who supported it were in a minority and would lose. Yet, people ignored them and voted. Look what happened – they won the vote. Sure, they are trying to make it hurt as much as possible before they are ultimately forced to do it, but it’s happening one way or the other. Look what else is happening, one of the very same people that did everything they could to make sure Brexit hurt the Brits is resigning from office. The same thing happened with Donald Trump, he may not be even half of what we wanted, but you better believe we dodged a bullet with Clinton. Who else can I use as examples to impress upon you that your vote and your participation matters? What about the yellow vests in France? How about the Italians with their prime minister? I can go on and on.
The biggest lie the Left tries to perpetuate is that voting is useless and there is nothing you can do to stop them. Of course they would, they don’t want you opposing them. How else is 9.6% of the population supposed to control the rest of the 90.4% if that overwhelming majority gets out and stops them? You have way more power in your hands than you realize and it does not take a gun to use it. If voting didn’t really matter, like some say it doesn’t, then the Left wouldn’t be signing up people to vote, right?
Your forefathers left you with all the tools necessary to fix Clown World, if you’re willing to use them.
This brings me to another point I wanted to make. These same people will then deflect the above point and say things along the lines of: “But, I don’t like any of the candidates” or “All the candidates are trash anyways.” And lastly, “No matter who I vote for, things never change.”
The whole idea of a representative republic is that the various groups and interests within it have representatives. This is a necessary thing for the whole concept to work. So, who politically represents us and the various factions of the Dissident Right now? No one, at least on an effective level that matters. Political parties come and go. As it stands, the Republican Party is on the way out. Its base will begin dying out in the next decade. Why is there no Whig Party anymore? Again, parties come and go.
You don’t like any of the candidates running or are tired of business as usual? Good, so am I.
Here’s a solution: run for office yourself. Be that change you want to see. I don’t expect you to win a national election or even a senate election for your state, that’s ridiculous at the present. No, what you can do is win elections more closer to home. You can run for office in your local town or county where campaigning is simply getting the word out to people, friends, and family. You don’t need millions of dollars to do this. All it takes is your time and talking to people.
It is my belief that a citizen not only has the right, but the duty to serve. I would hate to live in a Free Dixie where others believe otherwise because we would just be back at square one.
Your vote matters, your voice matters and your participation matters. It’s when you surrender all of this you lose the fight.
It’s time to start making real solutions and taking real action to fix things. I hate to break it to you, but the world has always been a crummy place and it gets even worse when you step foot outside the border. I would know, I speak from experience.
God bless you and God bless Dixie.
I have seen three emperors in their nakedness, and the sight was not inspiring.
I view voting as a tactic. If it’s there, use it. (BTW, Glad I.Dixie is back up. I was ashamed of WordPress)
Now you’re thinking the way I’m thinking.
Well, sure. Most any dissident views voting in that way. The Nazi Party in pre-WWII Germany looked at it precisely like that, and said as much many times. I can go dig the articles up if you like, but my point is that your view is the common view that essentially knows no borders nor ethnic or racial distinctions. This is why R.L. Dabney said (in Women’s Rights Women) of the vaunted “universal franchise” that it has a “Satanic ingenuity” about it, to wit:
T. Morris, I have something in the works in regards to women voting. If you want to preview it before it gets pushed out get in touch with me over the ID listener group. Right now I’m on a 30 day fb ban so I won’t be able to respond but I think you will like this article I’m sitting on.
Dear Otto: Might I suggest you read Zippy on this topic. Thoroughly. Beginning here: https://wp.me/p2Bo5c-nK
Btw: let me just say that neither Zippy (when he was yet alive), nor I, is advocating for complete abstienence. It is a matter of personal, and local, responsibility. In your (Floridean) case, for example, voting in the national elections makes perfect sense, all things else considered. In my case, by contrast, it makes little to no sense, and you’re perfectly wrong, with all due respect, in your assertion therein that my vote means anything at all. It doesn’t, and that is fact. Think about it in terms like this (although it is much deeper): why vote in a system, and pollute myself thereby, by casting a vote in favor of the “conservative” candidate, when (s)he is a hair’s breadth away from supporting the platform of her most vehement opponent? It makes no sense, brother, and that is the point, very simply stated. I could certainly state it in more complex terms, but why? If Southrons can’t understand the simple stuff, why go into the more complex? Which is a lesson in itself, btw.
To which I presented the point that the consideration should be made to run for office yourself. The reality is this system is all going to come crashing down, that is inevitable but by insulating ourselves from the damage as much as possible will only set us up for better chances of success on the back foot.
I get what you are saying which is exactly why I put the last part in there. I predicted a response such as yours is one I should expect in writing this piece.
Let me give you an example that was cut out from the article that I wish had made it in.
In my country we have an elected position for mosquito control. I’m not joking. Yes, while it’s not going to change the world it gets your foot in the door. At the end of the day who cares who runs for an office like mosquito control? Who knows about the people running for these offices? That’s the point. Grass roots rising to positions where they can make changes. In order to do so we must get our foot in the door. This is EXACTLY what the left did in its rise to power.
Everything is a numbers game and right now that includes time. The more time we can buy the better we can prepare for the inevitable. I fully don’t expect southern nationalists to be able to take down the system as it stands.
Look at it this way, do you want our people at the reigns for when it all comes crashing down or do you want the left to have control of the what is left to rule over you with an iron fist? This whole article was aimed at community level activism. What I simply proposed is to make your vote count either by voting for our people or getting our people running and voting for them. If you are unwilling to do that then step up to the plate yourself.
Lord knows if you were running for office in your locale I would vote for you if I lived there and that’s the point.
We aren’t necessarily talking about conservative or democrat options here. This is the point I think you failed to grasp.
I’ve made the consideration. It isn’t an option for me personally, mainly because I still have small children yet to raise, but there are others as well. I spend the bulk of my “free time” coaching young boys in various sports. This way I can have a direct and positive impact on the boys in question, as well as their young parents (and experience has proven that their parents often need it as much or more so than their kids), and still put that time into my own kids that they deserve and crave.
You also talked about your love of aviation (a love we two share, btw), further stating that getting your private pilot’s license wasn’t an option for you fresh out of the military. I don’t question that statement or decision; indeed, I faced the same dilemma many moons ago, so I get it. Later on, however, I actually did pursue that course, so don’t give up hope. I could tell you lots of personal anecdotes about the joys of flying with my kids, and I might get into that sometime in future, but not now. One of my boys who is now 14 has an intense interest in flying, so we go through the books and all that together, preparing the way for him if that happens to be his choice of pursuits in the future. One of my nephews is currently working on his IFR rating, and his first introduction to flying of any kind was when I flew down to visit him and his younger brother when they were little boys.
I quit flying back a few years ago. It was fun while it lasted! 🙂
That was touching to read. Thank you for sharing it. Some of my best and earliest memories were flying with my uncle at the time and various other times I got behind the stick growing up. I fully intend to get back into it in the future provided everything doesn’t fall apart before then. I’ve always wanted to go back to flying but various things in life have gotten in the way.
I understand what I said may not be something you can do or others but there are those who can and they need to. Taking back our communities starts at the ground level and things you do as well as others, such as coaching young kids, are not to be discredited. Such efforts are ALL equally important.
