Thou writhing worms and bloated maggots
You wretches who destroy our past
Sniveling sycophants and creeping cretins
Envious of the shadows giants cast
You pass stones and proclaim them mountains
You stain canvas and dare call it art
You mark a word and name it a masterpiece
You bring low that which enflames the heart
Loathing of that which is lofty
You’d sooner cast the world into mire
And doom us to endless darkness
Than leave in peace our honored sires
Defilers of our beloved dead
Kin of the foul and vicious trolls
Ghoulish destroyers of their graves
We know you by your blackened souls
All of this and more we can see
Of those who would destroy Robert E Lee
Know that this shall always and ever be
He was and still is a better man than thee

O I’m a good old rebel, now that’s just what I am. For this “fair land of freedom” I do not care at all. I’m glad I fit against it, I only wish we’d won, And I don’t want no pardon for anything I done.
Beautiful! I wish I had the talent to write poetry such as this. I have tried, but never come close.
Well done.
Well done and well said.Bravo.
As Columbus Falco wrote, “The praise of a great man is a lesser man’s honor.” I don’t think any of our readers will dispute the greatness of Robert E. Lee. Well done.
A real healthy take on the matter Sir.
May God Bless and deliver the Southland back to his Grace amongst nations.
General Lee Rest In Peace
