Paganism Revisited

I recently grabbed lunch with a friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in a while.  We caught up, talked about girls, jobs, and the general updates.  Then the topic of religion came up and I mentioned that I’m in between churches, but have been going to one I’m liking.  He said that he has been interested in and delving into Germanic Paganism.

Unsurprisingly, his reasoning for interest in Germanic Paganism was both the absolute state of the modern mainstream church denominations and a desire to get in touch with his ancestors.  Now, I’ve made it clear my views on paganism previously.  I’m not trying to rehash that old topic, exactly.  I do want to talk about why folks are converting and the problems with it.

I stated to him much of what my research in paganism had told me: most of the myths were transmitted by Christians, the myths themselves look pretty degenerate, and paganism today attracts and is led by degenerates, so it isn’t a “based” alternative to Francis’ Catholicism.  His retort, unsurprisingly, was an appeal to the religion of the blood and that even if modern paganism is not what it once was, there is a sort of racial memory that can transmit truth. He was going to rely on that somewhat to get to the root of the religious tradition.

It’s been a while since I’ve cracked open Evola, but racial memory (often called “genetic memory”) is absolutely a real thing.  This has been demonstrated with rats and also may explain why humans, and apparently even primates, have a natural aversion to things in the so-called “uncanny valley.” Many scary stories involve almost human looking monsters and the reason they’re so scary is that, perhaps, they remind us of the demons our ancestors faced long ago.

Of course, if you are a Christian, you would view the racial memory argument for religion with some trepidation.  After all, Christianity professes all mankind are descendants of Noah and that it was particular descendants of Noah, like Abraham, Moses, and later Jesus Christ, who transmitted the true faith.  For whatever reason, many of Noah’s descendants picked up false deities rather than sticking to the One who guided their ancestor to build the ark.  Whether your ancestors worshipped the Sumerian, Egyptian, or Germanic pantheon, all of these were false deities, unlike I Am/Yahweh.

The other issue regarding the appeal to the ancestors is that it actually separates you from your closest ones.  Let’s say hypothetically each religion gets its own afterlife (ignoring for a moment that this is a bit blasphemous).  You get to be judged by the one fitting your faith. So, if you worship the Egyptians, you’ll have your heart weighed on those scales by Anubis.

For the Germans, there are a couple issues. The first is that you’re most likely not going to die in battle, so Valhalla isn’t in your future. The other issue is that you won’t be with your parents, your grandparents, your great-grandparents, or their parents.  You will not see your first ancestor who came to America or the one who built the cabin your grandfather grew up in, or the one who first acquired the family farm you now till.  No.  Even assuming the best case scenario, you’ll spend the rest of eternity with a bunch of people whose names you’ve never heard and whose tongues are foreign to your ears.

All the ancestors who you can trace worshiped some variant of Christianity.  Every old photo of relatives, every person who your grandmother says you look like, ever family folk legend involves your ancestors who were Christian and those are the people you are choosing to reject.

Conversion is a big step and shouldn’t be taken lightly.  You shouldn’t avoid conversion simply because it’s not what your parents or grandparents did.  I know some people look at Orthodoxy with trepidation because it’s an “Eastern Religion” but admittedly, so was Christianity when our ancestors first adopted it.  Wherever you are in your religious journey, look for the truth.  Do not write off a religion just because members or even leaders of it are bad, but rather follow the faith that you genuinely believe to be true.  Follow the path God set for you, not simply the path you wish to be true.

  1. The Roman Empire was pagan, and its paganism (essentially Indo-European) provided no moral guidance whatsoever. When Christianity showed up, all the oppressed masses, which included noble women, rapidly converted, basically because Christianity did provide moral guidance, and promoted the worth of all people.

Modern pagans are historically illiterate, even about their paganism. In a rapid decaying society, we do not need a revival of amoral paganism.

  2. Tough subject well covered – and great reply by Mr. Sykes.

It’s important for people to understand the difference between Christianity and religion. Christianity is from God, while religion is from man. While the modern mainline “churches” have become little more than social clubs for nice people, and caldrons of somewhat watered down Marxism, they are NOT Christianity (followers of Christ). The mainline churches are not unlike America – they started out with noble intentions to do what is right, but over time, they degenerated into vehicles for men to advance their own agendas.

    Again, great article.

  3. Christianity is nothing but a subversive tool designed to make western men fat, weak, and stupid while their values, lands, wealth, women, and identities are raped from them. This is exactly what happened in Rome and it is what is happening now throughout the Western world.

The major difference between Old Testament Odinism and New Testament Christianity is that under Odinism we wouldn’t be drowning in millions of unwashed illiterate rape baby mongrels hell bent on the absolute destruction of our way of life. The new Testament was almost entirely written by a Pharisee pretending to be a Jew who COINCIDENTALLY placed other Pharisees pretending to be Jews at the center of Christianity. Your Christianity has conditioned you to stick your face in the ground and your ass in the air while you send your money to Israel and your white children to die for Israel. CNN, MSNBC, Disney, Fox, Blizzard Activision, Biden’s entire cabinet, and the BoD of every major liberal/communist lobbying organization in the world is comprised entirely of Jews. The people destroying your society with the vaccine/scandemic are Jews. The pandemic has created dozens of new Jewish billionaires. They own every financial institution in the US and almost all of that has happened since WW2.

“Christianity promotes the worth of all people” and what worth is that? You don’t have inherent worth just because your mother sh*t you out. Talent, values, intellect, law and order, hygiene, literacy, art, technological progress…these are the hallmarks of value. Not simply living, eating, f*cking, and sh*tting. This is EXACTLY the problem with Christianity, in your eyes all men are created equal…even the ones parasitically destroying the rest of us. Your Christianity is nothing but moral anarchy pretending to be moral guidance. 70 million abortions, endless wars, degeneracy/homosexuality/transabominations, race mixing, and anti nationalism being forced into our schools, estrogen/birth control in our water supply has reduced testosterone percentages by 30 percent in 2 generations, and ALL of our land and wealth has been raped from us thanks to your Christian tolerance and submission to the Jew…yet you’re the moral standard.

Christianity is nothing but a death cult promoting and empowering race treason. There is 2000 years of empirical evidence to support this going all the way back to Rome itself and you refuse to acknowledge this.

But you want me to acknowledge that a Jew walked across water because another Jew said so. Lol.

    1. Strange then how for nineteen and a half centuries, Christianity made the Western man strong and moral and led him to build a civilization that stood astride the world like a colossus, and then when the Western man drifted away from Christianity, he became “fat, weak, and stupid” and his empires crumbled.

But of course, you have a bunch of big talk about how this wouldn’t be happening of you were in charge – talk that you’ve never backed up with any significant action in the real world. I mean, you have that deranged Austrian art student who also talked big, and then got his ass beat by Mother Russia so hard that his country still hasn’t recovered from it. He promised a 1000-year Reich and delivered 12 years, which ended with his country as a smoking ruin. Not seeing a reason to be impressed there.

As for the theme of the article, the proper response to neo-paganism is the same as the proper response to everything else in the world that’s insignificant and irrelevant: just ignore it.

  4. There has been some attempts at inculturation of Orthodox Christianity in the South, through Southern converts, and I hope they continue, but the slide towards progressivism and the SJW Gospel among Orthodox bishops is of concern.

    1. yeah and that is an abomination against Orthodoxy.
My ancestors didn’t bleed to defent Christendom for centuries so we can have a bunch of Ortholarpers treat our faith as a coin operated salvation machine
