Gun Rights Revisited

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

It goes without saying that any visitor to this website is familiar with the text of the Second Amendment; I would also expect that every reader owns at least one firearm, be it a rifle or a pistol. The discourse surrounding the Second Amendment in the United States has always been a contentious one, between those who understand that liberty comes from the end of a gun and those who ought to be on the receiving end of one.

In particular, the topic of fully-automatic firearms is one that has seen the de facto criminalization of such weapons from reaching the hands of the average citizen. The Left says that these are “weapons of war,” and calls for banning “assault weapons” (semi-automatic weapons that look scary to liberals who’ve never shot a gun). Whereas, the Right invokes “shall not be infringed” to protect the right to bear said weapons; although, the mainstream Right is very hesitant to advocate for fully-automatic firearms in the hands of the citizenry. But it is here where the Left is correct, but for the wrong reasons: it is true that fully-automatic weapons are designed specifically for war as they make killing the enemy a whole lot easier – however, that quality is why having them in the hands of the citizenry is so important. Expecting normal citizens to fight against foreign invaders or tyrannical governments with lever-action rifles, shotguns, or semi-automatic AR-15s only is absurd and makes the preservation of liberty and national sovereignty much more difficult.

That being said, it must also be noted that the Second Amendment was written for the purposes of arming “well-regulated” militias, not guys who want a shiny new toy to play with at the gun range. Revolution and warfare are serious issues, and too many on the Right want the benefits without any the duties that follow. I (and surely you, too) have seen copious social media posts from “patriots” who genuinely believe that, if a mass gun confiscation or civil war were to occur, they would break out their gun safe and wait patiently for the Feds to come to their neighborhood, going door-to-door, entering in single-file lines as they shoot them and any Tannerite traps in their house in a Rambo-style Home Alone strategy. As comical a scenario as this sounds, too many believe this and think nothing more of it. The grim reality is that if the government really wanted to disarm the population, there are far better ways of doing so – and indeed, some of the things I will list they have done. They can:

  1. Criminalize self-defense; you shoot someone who is clearly threatening your life or property, enjoy being dragged through the courts and losing everything via lawfare, assuming you aren’t also found guilty by one of their corrupt prosecutors.
  2. Red Flag Laws, to legally strip someone of their gun rights without due process.
  3. Shut off your bank account and utilities and keep doing so until you break.
  4. Have kids? One day they’ll go to school and never come back; you’ll get a letter from the government saying that, for the safety of your children, they have been moved to another state and will not be returned until every gun is turned in.

There are more ways not mentioned, but the point is that they don’t have to go full Lexington and Concord to get what they want. Your rights can easily be stripped away without even a single shot fired. So, what is to be done, not just for the current situation but in a future where Dixie is a free country? Si vis pacem, para bellum.

We must recognize that it is not the weapons in themselves that win wars, but the people becoming proficient in them and coordinating in all things, like logistics, OPSEC, and organizational structure. These things take time and effort, and the best place to hone these skills are in a militia where one can meet like-minded compatriots to train for the defense of the homeland. Southern governors, mayors, and aldermen ought to pass laws that allow for the ownership of fully-automatic weapons for all Southern citizens provided they join a militia where they can train and be organized against those hostile to our people and nation. Under this legal system, the guns themselves are not registered – one can be a member of a militia while only possessing something simple like a revolver; it merely allows for anonymity in regards to ownership of various gun types, while simultaneously demanding a degree of civic responsibility from those who wish to step up their arsenal and purchase a M249 SAW. Be it checking a tyrannical abuse or defense of your locality, it is good to be prepared in material and training, and such an act would allow for both.

Note: This is not a FedPost, nor should it be construed in any fashion as condoning, approving, or advocating for illegal activity. Rather, a commentary for fully-automatic weapons in the hands of the citizenry of a Free Dixie.

  1. Yes … and let’s not forget drones. We, the well regulated militia, now have to be ready to defend against drones which includes drone swarms and flame throwing robo dogs!

Then there’s the cost of ammo … especially when dealing with full auto.

Every community without an all white reasonably trained militia is toast when (((they))) attack. (((They))) will likely go city by city / county by county / state by state / FEMA region by FEMA region. To kick (((their))) a$$ militias will need to mobilize to assist in any mostly white suburb and white rural area under attack. Choose your battles. Let (((them))) exhaust resources in the darkie packed cities.
    Think like a general.
