We have the best commenters here at Identity Dixie, they are witty, insightful, knowledgeable, and sometimes painfully observant. I’ve read through many of their comments and contemplated their remarks concerning the current state of our people. Some of it is not so flattering, but also, not untrue. Honestly, we can do better, we must do better. We must be introspective.
For instance:
We are too fat, which is very true, just go to any big retail box store, and it is very evident that most of us could stand to lose a few pounds. Even as old as I am, I could stand to drop some weight, just in case everything implodes, and the South must defend herself. Therefore, I’ve have gotten on a routine to lose weight, build muscle, and increase my stamina. And I’ve enlisted some of my brothers to keep me accountable, with real goals, and timetables.
Another valid criticism discussed in articles and comments at Identity Dixie is that Southerners are too attached to the rhetoric of American patriotism – think of Trump flags and Toby Keith songs (God bless and rest that fine man’s soul), wanting us to put boots in the asses of people halfway around the world, people just defending their homes, just as we would if the situation were reversed. Unfortunately, many of our people are locked into an almost idolatrous devotion to an American Empire that hates them. Will they ever learn?
Other observations revolve around the generations that will replace the Boomers, and the early GenX Dixians. Are they hard enough to help free Dixie while their faces are buried in electronic devices, gorging on social media as a substitute for real life experiences? Are our young men going to be tough enough if there is a hot war on our people? Can our young women depart from the vanity of celebrity watching, and find real fulfillment in raising an actual family, and challenging their husbands to be better, tougher, and stronger?
Will Southerners see a true revival in our Christian faith, one that turns back to the traditional, away from the false doctrine of Dispensationalism, and the idolatry of worshipping those that have rejected Christ? Will they embrace Christian Nationalism, but one in its truest form, a devotion to our Lord, for our people before all others? We can pray, but perhaps we can do more.
The most brilliant pastor, who’s teachings I have had the pleasure of sitting under, imparted a paradigm shifting wisdom to me that I have never forgotten. I’ve chewed on it, and even though the taste was more bitter than sweet, I swallowed that bitter pill. And the wisdom that he passed down was very simple. He told me, paraphrasing, “Father Dabney, if God has shown you a need, if He has impressed it upon your heart, then it is most likely, you are the one He is calling to meet that need.”
Recently, dropping some eaves as the congregants of our church exited our historic chapel, stopping to shake the hand of our most faithful minister, one of the young men asked if the pastor knew of any active Christian single ministries that he could get plugged into. The young man is close to thirty, accomplished, faithful, and someone that comes from a very fine Southern family. So, when he asked this question, I interjected the advice from our old minister, which both my pastor and young man were very familiar. And before I could even start the quote, both men knowing what I was about to say reacted; my pastor smiled, and the young man put his hands to his ears knowing he would be accountable for what he was about to hear. It was quite a delightful moment on a beautiful Lord’s Day.
Therefore, in closing, there are vast amounts of other criticisms that can be laid at the feet of our people. And if you are the ones raising those concerns, I count you as a friend, but perhaps you could consider focusing that energy in a positive direction, one that helps build up, and delivers our nation from its malignancy. By bringing these concerns up, you’ve already shown a devotion for something better for our people. If you search your heart, and rely on divine guidance, you know your task is to make a difference. I have no doubt, brothers and sisters, you will.
