Myth of the 20th Century: Pineapple Imperialism – a History of Hawaii

Viewed as a microcosm of Manifest Destiny beyond the confines of the geographical limits of the continental United States, the annexation of the Hawaiian Islands by the US in the late 19th century marked the beginning of what we now consider the global American Empire. To the Hawaiian peoples, it was a clearly just as if not moreso a historic moment, albeit done for reasons of pragmatic acceptance of their minor power relationship in an ocean surrounded by much larger political and economic forces. The Hawaiian Islands, given their incredible strategic military location in the middle of the Pacific, would inevitably come under the sway of one of the surrounding powers. It was almost always less a question of if, but rather a question of when – and how.

  1. I could only make it to 33 minutes. This is not only a sophomoric attempt of Hawaiian history, it’s down right misleading, I can refute about everything this man has to say on the subject. Don’t waste your time listening to this garbage.

    1. The Man had a valid point about the two main Christian religions introducing Christ to the Natives alongside with Capitalism. The Catholic and Protestant religions fought each other the whole time, all over the pacific islands. It was a disgrace.
I do apologize, It wasn’t all garbage, but you don’t know $#!+ from shinola about Hawaiian history.

  2. Both the Papal religion, and her whoring daughters, (collectively known as protestan-schism) had, long before this, abandoned any adherence to the anti-miscegenation examples and commands of the Old Testament.

So, to hear the one speaker talk dismissively about Congregationalists and sailors engaging in sexual intercourse with the natives is demeaning & anti-Christian, in that it presumes the exemplars of those religions under discussion, were being biblically obedient! The trouble is, they weren’t!

The biblical witness of Ezra and Nehemiah, especially Ezra chapter 9, as well as the apocryphal verse in Tobit 4:12, should have mandated -for both the Catholics as well as the protestants that they should never have engaged in sexual relations with anyone other than fellow whites!

But the overt Christian bashing in this podcast, made it almost unbearable to listen to. I thought identity Dixie was ostensibly Christian. I doubt I’ll listen to any other podcasts after this, if this is the norm. Even Jazzhands over at Fash the Nation respects Christianity, even while he disagrees with it.
