If Hollywood had a successful, iconoclastic director known for questioning the mainstream American narrative – something many view as a contradiction in terms – it might very well be Oliver Stone. With a career spanning over 40 years as a screenwriter and director, Stone has covered topics such as the drug trade in Scarface, overseas military intervention with Platoon and Salvador, and financial greed with Wall Street. His political biopics remain controversial with many in the establishment as they question the very legitimacy of the American world order. Tonight, we are joined by Harry Flashman, a writer for the American Sun, to discuss this prolific film maker.
