Prepper Man

Before I ever got involved in any dissident politics, I was a prepper. Years ago, it became apparent the writing was on the wall and we’d entered the “weak men create hard times” cycle of decline. From skills, supplies, and knowledge, I began to improve myself. You can do the same and you must do the same if you want to survive. Folks asleep at the wheel will remain asleep even after we experience routine regional, and nationwide, power outages (California is a prelude to our future).

Have you asked yourself what you will do when there is no food in the supermarket? What will you do when the money in your wallet is worth nothing? Are you prepared when the lights go out and never come back on? How about not being able to go anywhere because gas isn’t available? Ever thought about the Russians or Chinese using an EMP attack on the bumbling American Empire?

Everything is in blackout and nothing works. The EMP sparks widespread fires, explosions, all kinds of industrial accidents. Firestorms rage in cities and forests. Toxic clouds pollute the air and chemical spills poison already polluted lakes and rivers. In seven days, the over 100 nuclear power reactors run out of emergency power and go Fukushima, spreading radioactive plumes over the most populous half of the United States. There is not even any drinking water and the national food supply in regional warehouses begins to spoil in three days. There was only enough food to feed 320 million people for 30 days anyway.

Look, a total collapse may or may not happen. I don’t expect it to; however, I expect things to get very hard, if not much harder, than they were during the Great Depression. Back then, something to the tune of 40% of Americans lived on farms. Now, not so much. Plus, our country is becoming progressively dumber. Per a 2017 report in The Washington Post, 40% of California 4th-graders (5th and 6th graders, too) didn’t know that hamburger comes from cows and 16 million people think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. This country has got some serious problems.

The only way to protect yourself is to be as independent as possible and produce something. From growing your own food to protecting yourself, your property, and your family. Homestead living is what will save you. Forming community bonds with like minded people is also critical (listen to Rebel Yell for more info on that). When you take this to a community level, you lay the foundations to establish a parallel society. One person cannot do everything, and by sharing the workload between dozens, you exponentially increase your odds of surviving a natural or man-made disaster.

You have to get out of the city if you’re in one. Major metropolitan centers will be consumed with violent strife and crime when the collapse reaches that point. The government, at all levels, will quickly become overwhelmed and you are going to be on your own. The urbanite will totally crushed when power grids go down. Most hipsters, rootless transplants and ghetto denizens will be taking a dirt nap within 60 days of a breakdown in our farm to table supply chain.

Hou must develop skills: whether that’s being able to clean a wound or being able to provide clean water and food, I can’t stress enough how important it is you take the time you have now to prepare as best you can. Regardless if “prepper porn” ever comes to fruition, it still puts you and your family in a good position. If a natural disaster happens, you will be glad you prepped. If a major catastrophe hits the economy, you will be thankful that you prepped. There are real and pragmatic reasons for getting yourself into prepping.

When empires fall, life gets very difficult for people who were once under their domain. Prepare accordingly.

God bless you and God bless Dixie.

  1. The biggest difference between now and the Great Depression is demographics. During the Depression, we were still an ethnically homogeneous nation who held some common values and purpose. Now? It is a free-for-all with new “Americans” hating and resenting heritage Americans. When the law enforcement apparatus gets overwhelmed, the most “diverse” areas will become killing fields overnight and once they settle old beefs and loot every dollar store and gas station, they will turn on us. It won’t happen overnight until it does. I shake my head at people who insist on living near urban centers but have a “bug out bag” handy because they can’t stand the thought of leaving their job and 401k but those people are going to be in trouble when it hits the fan. My advice has and continues to be that you bug out right now (http://www.arthursido.com/2019/04/bug-out-now.html) and start forming the relationships you will need to survive. This isn’t The Walking Dead and if you try to rely on forming a band of plucky survivors after things collapse, you won’t make it.

  2. When preparing for when SHTF scenario go ahead and skip all the 20th-21st century stuff and learn how to survive in the 19th century. I see so many people prepping things that won’t be useful after the supplies run out. Generators and fuel come to mind.

Mankind lived basically the same for the last 10,000 years, if this reset occurs, you most likely won’t have the financial resources to maintain a 20th century life style very long. Learn to live as your forebears did.

  3. Having lots of non perishable food items is way more reliable than gardening. Pinto beans and white rice are dirt cheap and can be stored for 30+ years easily. Canned food over 100 years old has been tested and found perfectly edible except for taste, texture and some slight vitamin loss. Of course, more than anything you need a water supply that does not depend on an electric pump or grid. The most basic needs are food and water, clothing and shelter (heated depending on weather) as always. The rest is just comforts.
