The True Terror

In any red-blooded, healthy American should dwell the notion that the government wants you dead. We almost expect it, as it has been conditioned in us from a young age through entertainment that, when something goes horribly wrong in a small town, it’s going to get nuked.

I think the first time I saw this was in The Return of the Living Dead when I was a little kid. Since then, until COVID, I’d always figured to myself that getting nuked is what would happen to us if anything went really wrong.

They also did this in the remake of The Crazies, you knew the town was getting nuked as soon as the movie began. I think the thing about the nukes is that it’s so final and also quick. A neat conclusion to a horrific situation. I find it rather comforting.

I’ve made lots of jokes about getting nuked since the SMO began in Ukraine, but I must concede that I don’t think we’re getting off the hook that easy. Death fleeing from us, that sort of thing. Look what happened to Germany and Japan, and they weren’t even turning kids into trannies. They were actually against that sort of thing. America is so much worse than anything which has preceded it. As Long John Silver put it: “Them that die will be the lucky ones!”

It’s actually a quintessentially American characteristic to assume you’d end up getting nuked by your own government, nobody else is conditioned this way as far as I’m aware. For everyone else around the globe, it’s in their head as a WW3 scenario which basically went away at the end of the Cold War. This was only in certain places on the docket for a good nuking.

For instance, I’ve never heard anyone in Latin America care about this scenario at all. I think this is also reinforced in the American mind by growing up watching incidents like Waco and logically concluding the federal government could scale up this massacre if that’s what was deemed necessary.

I was rounded up by soldiers in hazmat suits and detained against my will on a European military base during COVID. It was a rather surreal feeling, but each of us were filmed as we were processed in and had prohibited items, like my liquor and cigarettes, sequestered and cataloged to be returned to us upon release.

Nobody got nuked, so it just stopped being a thing in the back of my head. It was one of those weird things where you wake up the next day thinking you were dreaming, but you just woke up on a cot in a room by yourself on this fuckin’ base. Eventually, they just turned ya’ loose. It was really bizarre, and there was no rational medical justification for any of it like you’d see in the movies.

The other thing about these movies was that it was about zombies, but it seemed like it would be cool to have zombies from a childish perspective back when things were fairly normal. Thirty years ago, things were really normal compared to now.

Now, we’ve got hordes of real-life zombies on drugs and millions of live people pouring across the border with the mental capacity of zombies and we’ve learned the hard way that it ain’t quite so fun. We literally have addicts with their flesh rotting off from xylazine stumbling around like zombies. Remember when those movies used to be cheap thrills?

I haven’t watched anything about zombies for years and I just sigh with exasperation whenever I hear some new zombie content is coming out. It would be like producing a movie about blacks committing wanton acts of crime, Latinos littering, driving past drug encampments hoping the light doesn’t turn red, or a boy who gets turned into a tranny by his single mom. Sure, they’ve already saturated this genre to the max, but also this is just our lives. Why would we pay to see this shit?

You see, the current year has taught me that real horror comes from the drip, drip, drip. You might say to yourself: “Tom, a large cargo ship slamming into a critical bridge and taking it completely out is hardly a drip.” My response would be that the Russians have ICBMS capable of killing everyone in the state of New York with one warhead.

So, relatively speaking, yes, that particular incident was one of the many drips that will drown us just like every plane which plunges out of the sky, every drunk Mexican who plows into someone’s living room, and every White person going about their day who eats a stray round over a black dispute that makes no sense at all.

All of these drips grow into a pool of terror, in which the final gasp of our civilization will be done as it flails impotently under the dark waters.

Only the strong will survive. Have a wonderful day.

  1. I think you’re quite right. I don’t think we’ll be deemed worth the price a nuke or even a bullet. But perhaps the ‘true terror’ is that only the mutant detritus will survive. The strong and the intelligentsia (dissidents) are the first targeted for elimination in the coming world order.

  2. My friends, Iran’s attack caused virtually no damage to Israel! A few potholes, that were quickly repaired. That’s all!

I am friends with many in the highest levels of the Israeli government, and they have assured me that *99%* of the incoming missiles were shot down!

Unfortunately, hundreds of Israelis were killed by Israel’s response to the attack.

  3. Goddess, I LOVE “The Return of the Living Dead” and have a copy on DVD. Interesting that you mention real-life zombies among us. The two protagonists in “Only Lovers Left Alive” refer to humans as “zombies”.
