It sounds like something that comes right out of a mythological tale. Something that maybe you read about in a book or expect to see as the title of some painting with ancient Greek or Roman gods fighting, but that’s not what I’m referencing in this article. No, what I’m referencing is something that is very much real and very much modern. In fact, we are all living it right now and there are two distinct sides. The forces of Godly men and the forces of satanic godless heathens.
Buckle up, we are talking about Christianity.
More specifically, the role it plays in our society as Southerners, historically and presently. Dixie is a Christian nation. It has been since its inception and still largely is so, for the time being.
To branch off briefly into the subject of identity and the role it plays in a nation there are a wide range of factors (pillars, if it makes it easier to visualize) which are critical in providing a “face” of a nation, which makes it distinguishable from other nations. The one we are talking about today is religion, obviously, however, other ones exist, such as culture, racial demographics, traditions, language, etc. None of these can be discounted in the importance they play in maintaining a strong and healthy nation, both physically and spiritually.
I am sure you’ve heard things like, “A house divided cannot stand.” Or, “Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.” By examining both of these expressions, we can begin to understand the attack upon our Christian institutions and why this should be alarming to any devoted follower of Christ.
Religion, in general, provides a stable and set system of values common among its practitioners that exists outside and above, not only the state, but man himself. Man, as we know from the Bible, can fail, but God does not. God’s laws and mandates set for us are the “gold standard,” so to speak. Even if we may fall short, we strive to aspire to them. This is why things like confession exists. We all have, or will, sin at some point. God understands this.
Historically, any time an authoritarian government takes hold, one of the first things targeted is the religion of the country. There is both biblical and logical reasons for this. Christianity is the faith that a vast majority of us live by. Even though we may differ in any number of ways, it is something that dictates how we behave and interact with each other. Take Southern hospitality for example. It’s common in Dixie, but how much do you want to bet it’s common in other places? Go visit Providence, Rhode Island and see how polite and courteous they are up there.
I’ll give you another example, a friend of mine got booted out of where she was living by her ex-boyfriend and even though I hadn’t seen or spoken to her in about four months, when she messaged me asking for a place to stay for the night, I took her in no questions asked. Sure, you might do the same thing, but I’m willing to bet you’re most likely not a godless hipster or rootless urbanite.
The point I’m trying to make here is this – in this case, it was instinctive and morally the right thing to do, but those morals come from me being a Southerner and a Christian.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.Mark 12:31
This sense of Godly community is something common among all of us. When the Bible talks of thy neighbor, it speaks of our people and community. Principles such as this, while not completely distinct to just the Southerner and the Christian, are not so common among the godless heathens of Weimerica. The reason the godless heathen seeks to destroy the Church, through all means possible, is the Church exists outside and above the state. This means it cannot (in theory) be influenced by man or his institutions. It is the gold standard.
Because God is pure, the Satanic forces of Weimerica must corrupt it, as they have been doing so by preaching blasphemy (think lesbian preachers and other degenerates). Because these evil forces cannot directly control it, the Church is a threat in their fight over control of man and his soul. Without God or religion of any kind, one has no grounding. God’s standards do not change nor waiver. They are a pillar that has always existed and will continue so long as we, ourselves, do not succumb to the forces of the devil. The Lord’s standards for us do not change with the state or with the passing of time. They are rigid.
Nothing the leftist believes in is fixed. It is always changing with time or social attitudes. The heathen has no roots of which to ground him or her. Because of this, they will always fall prey to the machinations of the devil and his forces. Understanding this concept leads to one inevitable conclusion – the forces against us are demonic in nature and are in league with the devil. As uncomfortable as it may sound to modern ears, we are crusaders fighting against the darkness.
Now, you begin to understand why the leftist corrupts the church with their agenda, why the leftist has taken God out of schools, government, the home, and mocks the sacrifice Christ made for us. The leftist fears God because the thought that they will have to answer to someone beyond their control terrifies them. They see themselves as gods, beyond His judgment. This is no doubt why your average leftists is an atheist or outright hates Christianity. He and His Church is a rival to their own self-worship.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.Luke 4:8
So long as we exist, they cannot. I often tell people who are going through rough times that the Lord does not put us through trials or challenges which we cannot handle. His wisdom is far more infinite than ours and his plans for all of us are far greater than we can ever hope to comprehend. The trials he puts us through is to make us better. This is why, despite how hard it may seem at times, the Lord still loves you and he has faith in you. You owe his graciousness to return that same faith for he has blessed us and forsaken those which have decreed against Him.
We are God’s chosen people, as he has decreed for us to bear witness. He has marked His and our enemies. It is upon us to fight for the heavens. He has blessed us with this home we fondly call Dixie.
God bless you and God bless Dixie.
