Okay boys and girls. I know that trolling is fun. I do it myself all the time. But there is a marked difference between twisting the underwear of communists in knots and doing something that is demonstrably harmful to what we are trying to accomplish, not to mention, engaging in something truly tactless and tasteless in the wake of dead children. I am referring to the 4chan prank that got picked up by the (((ADL))) and through them, the national media. It was a harrowing period of hours, where none of us really knew what to think. The Republic of Florida and their leader, Jordan Jereb, do not seem like the most savory group of characters to begin with, and the shooter does not look like someone who would be interested in our rhetoric, but the facts do not matter in the campaign we are engaged in. Our enemies have shown us this time and time again.
In the comment section of my last piece, a familiar phrase appeared, issued in a suitably derisive tone. That phrase? “The United States is a Nation of Immigrants (NOI).” I mistakenly noted that it was Edward Kennedy who first uttered it during the debate over Hart-Celler in 1965. As is common of the Kennedy boys, they get phrases attributed to them that they themselves were quoting. I’m reminded of one of Bobby’s (and my) favorite utterances: “Some men see things as they are and ask ‘why?’ I dream of things that never were and ask, ‘why not.’” Just as Bobby was credited with authorship of what was actually a George Bernard Shaw quote, so too did I mistakenly give Teddy credit for something John Kennedy wrote in 1958, in a book published by the (((ADL))) to raise his national profile for the 1960 election.
Every time it looks like Donald Trump is about to lose me, he does something that brings me back. After weeks of signaling that he was willing to make a deal on DACA, invalidating everything we had hoped he’d be, he comes back and calls the third world a collection of shitholes. A right cross after rhetorical rope-a-dope that dropped the leftists like a sack of bricks. DOWN GOES (((SCHUMER)))! DOWN GOES (((SCHUMER)))!!!
Ask the average American what he or she thinks of Nelson Mandela, and the answer you receive will range from generally positive to an advocacy for sainthood. The narrative has been internalized to the point where the people of this country genuinely and uncritically accept the stories that he was a proponent of non-violent struggle against the racist Apartheid regime of the then Republic of South Africa. He was not imprisoned for committing any crime, but rather merely for his belief that black South Africans should enjoy equal rights with the whites. He was his country’s Gandhi, or so we are told.
The coup that isn’t a coup™ in Zimbabwe against Robert Mugabe’s person has prompted a lot of discussion in Alt-Right circles about the southern part of Africa and, more importantly to us, the standing of white people therein. Perhaps the most LARPy thing that I have encountered is that since Mugabe is prevaricating about stepping down, intervention would be justified and a re-establishment of a white minority government. Charles Manson’s plot of a white-led Reconquista after black-led collapse applied to Africa. This. Is. Absurd. Full Stop. Put away the short shorts and put down your FAL FN. Rhodesia is not coming back and it never will.
